Title: Melomakarona Honey Soaked Buns > Cypriot

4ozButter, melted
2 Glasses/400ml sunflower oil
4tbCaster sugar
  Grated rinds of 2 oranges
  And 2 lemons
1 Glass/200ml orange juice
  Juice of 1 lemon
2lbPlain flour
1tsBaking powder
1 1/2tsBaking soda
  Syrup:
2 Glasses caster sugar
1 1/2 Glasses water
2tbHoney
  Coarsely ground almonds for
  Decoration

First make the syrup: heat the sugar and water gently until dissolved, then boil for 10 minutes. Add the honey and leave syrup to cool.

For the buns: sprinkle over coarsely ground almonds before serving.
